ARIYA HAWKINS is a Chicago-based performer and theatre-artist. ​

Hawkins began her training in The ChiArts Musical Theatre program, and is a graduate of Millikin University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre. Hawkins has been nominated for The Black Excellence Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Theatre" by the Black Arts and Culture Alliance of Chicago. She was recently seen in The Color Purple  at The Goodman Theatre, which received a Jeff Award nomination. Other Chicago credits include The North American premiere of RAIN: for babies and their carers (Filament Theatre), LEAF (Lifeline Theatre), The Promotion (MPAACT), and a hit dog will holler (Artemisia Theatre). Regional credits include Cabaret (Studio Theatre Tierra Del Sol), Haven (Outer Loop Theater Experience), Shut Up Kiss Me (PrideArts), and The Bikinis, The Queen Bees, and Vanities: The Musical (Canterbury Summer Theatre). Touring credits include A Raisin in the Sun and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Olney Theatre Center, National Players).  Hawkins firmly believes that art belongs to all of us, and we must utilize it as a tool for our collective healing; this mission guides all of her creative work.
